At Acorn + Root Behavioral Therapy, I believe meaningful change begins with balancing acceptance and change. My approach is personalized and collaborative, with care thoughtfully tailored to each person’s unique needs.

As a DBT-Linehan Board Certified Clinician™ and EMDR practitioner, I integrate evidence-based approaches to support emotional growth, resilience, and lasting change. I provide virtual therapy for adults across New Mexico, Nebraska, and Florida, helping clients build practical skills, deepen self-understanding, and move toward lives that feel more grounded and fulfilling.

Philosophy

The foundation of my work is the belief that meaningful change begins with understanding yourself more deeply. People often seek therapy during times when emotions feel overwhelming, you may feel stuck, or life feels unmanageable. My role is to listen, assess, making observations, offer evidenced based information and intervention, to include skill acquisition and generalization.

I approach therapy from a perspective that balances acceptance and change—a principle central to Dialectical Behavior Therapy developed by Marsha Linehan. In practice, this means honoring your experiences with validation while also working collaboratively toward meaningful change. As a DBT-Linehan Board Certified Clinician™, I integrate DBT principles with other evidence-based approaches to help clients strengthen emotional regulation, build resilience, and improve relationships with themselves and others.

I also incorporate trauma-informed care through Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), recognizing that many patterns and struggles are shaped by past experiences. Therapy is always tailored to each person’s goals, strengths, and needs.

Above all, I believe therapy works best when it feels collaborative, respectful, and grounded in genuine human connection. My goal is to help you develop a clearer understanding of yourself, build practical skills for navigating life’s challenges, and create meaningful, sustainable change.
